With the 2 bicycles provided take a cycle down to the nearby swimming hole, noted as one of the most idyllic within the Finnish Archipelago. The clear waters and high temperatures in the summer make this a peaceful escape for you and your friends to enjoy. There are also possibilities a 10 minute walk south of the property through the forest where you can take a dip off the rocks.
The cabin also offers unique fishing rights that only the islanders enjoy. There is a vast area where you are able to use the fishing nets provided to catch your own supper. Take the boat out and drop the nets over night, fingers crossed there are fish in the morning. You can also use the fishing poles provided, without a licence, to catch the well known pike, of which the island is named after. Use the outdoor smoking oven to enjoy your catch on the outside deck. (4,5 m boat and 5hp engine, included in price, we´ll take a 100 euros safety deposit. It will be returned after your stay if everything is ok with the boat and engine. A tank with gasoline costs 20 euro).
Take a day trip off the island by bicycle. Ride the 5 minute bike ride to the ferry and travel to the island of Norrskata (only 30 minutes away). Here you can eat lunch in the traditional seagull bar and restaurant then take a ride through the pine wood trees and coastal outcrops towards the island of korppoo. Bicycles are also available to rent throughout the archipelago ring road that crosses 220km of islands. It is possible to hire bicycles from the Nauvo visitor centre a couple minutes walk from where the boat docks (further information provided on request).
Taking a trip through the archipelago by kayak is one of the greatest ways to experience the islands in their fullest. During summer months the weather is perfect, with highs of 28 celsius there is no need for a wet suit. Kayaks can be provided through us or booked at a couple destinations within the archipelago. If you would like the kayaks available at the property then please discuss this before your visit. If you decide to partake in some kayaking during your stay we will not be able to deliver them to the island but can organise collection within the ring road area.

Villa Bergholmen is a unique summer residence on its own individual 4.2 hectare island in front of Taalintehdas of Kemiö. A traditional timber cottage on an island, with a separate wood stove sauna by the shore. Transportation by taxiboat, or with a boat of your own from Kasnäs or Rosala.(From Kasnäs 30 minutes, from Rosala 15 minutes)

The cottage is very tidy, in good condition, and has 37 m² down stairs and a 20 m² sleeping loft with a low ceiling. There is a sink and facet in the kitchen, which yields a limited supply of running cold water (the water comes from tank filled by a generator powered pump). A gas oven with 4 hotplates and a gas refrigerator with a small freezer box. Matrasses, blankets, and pillows for six. Sleeping arrangements: A sleeping loft and a doorless bedroom with a bunkbed, which fits 2 matrasses (best suited for children). In the sauna's dressing room, there are two foldaway beds (matrasses may be brought there). In the living room there is a sofa bed, a fireplace and a radio. The sauna is by the shore and has a wood burning stove, a big tub for cold water and wash basins. Water in the sauna is refilled with a hose (the generator powered pump is turned on for the refill, and is located 30 m from the sauna). The is a fireplace in the sauna's dressing room. An outdoor toilet (an odorless composting outhouse), a small outdoor barbeque, a row boat (to which you can attach your own motor).
Shore & surroundings: The cottage is situated on a gently sloping lawn going down to the shore. The toilet and the generator room are about 30 m away, and a good path leads there. The distance between the cottage and the sauna is about 10 m. The sauna is directly at the shore and the cottage is about 15 m from the shore.
The shoreline in front of the cottage is sheltered and the water is shallow, well suited for children. The bottom is a mixture of clay and sand. To the west, about 6.8 hectares of the shore is smooth rock. The middle part of the grounds has rough rock and forrest, with some blueberries and wild strawberries. There's a beatiful view to the island of Örö. Perch is easy to catch from the shore. Two big piers, one of which is right in front of the cottage & sauna, and another for boats in a sheltered cove, also near the cottage. Water depth along the shore is typically 1.5 m and piers have been visited by boats with a 1.25 m draught. The cottage and main shore face south, but the area has plenty of shoreline and to the the west there is a good rock shore to go swimming from.

Husula is a brand new cottage, built in year 2011 located in the small village called Träsk. Your vacation starts with an archipelago trip, because you take 3 ferries on your way to the cottage (Parainen-Nauvo, Nauvo-Korppoo, Korppoo-Houtskär).
